Natasha Altamirano
Communications Manager
As Communications Manager for the National Taxpayers Union (NTU) and National Taxpayers Union Foundation (NTUF), Natasha Altamirano assists the organizations' public-outreach operation through building media relations, serving as managing editor of NTU's and NTUF's newsletters, and overseeing the development of numerous external-affairs projects.
Altamirano, a former journalist, brings strong writing, editing, and communications skills to NTU and NTUF. She previously worked as a reporter at The Washington Times, where she wrote about local immigration news, and The Free Lance-Star in Fredericksburg, Va., where she covered religion issues.
Altamirano has reported on local, state, and national elections -- including Virginia's gubernatorial race in 2005 and U.S. Senate race in 2006. She counts among her other career highlights coverage of the Queen Elizabeth II's visit to the United States and the Virginia Tech shooting and investigation.
She graduated with a B.A. in English from the University of Virginia, where she served as News Editor for its student newspaper, The Cavalier Daily.
