Top 10 Anti-Growth House Republicans

Posted by Andrew Moylan - August 11, 2006

Once again, I'm taking up a Top 10 list put together by our Club for Growth friend Andy Roth that was recently published in Human Events. The goal is to cross-reference the Club's list with our annual Rating of Congress.

Again, I simply re-post the Club's original order while adding the Member's NTU Rating. Here goes...

10. Dave Reichert - 48%, C-
9. Jim Gerlach - 42%, C-
8. Joe Schwarz - 47%, C-
7. Tim Johnson - 40%, D
6. Chris Shays - 44%, C-
5. Sherwood Boehlert - 47%, C-
4. John McHugh - 48%, C-
3. Rob Simmons - 42%, C-
2. Chris Smith - 42%, C-
1. Jim Leach - 39%, D

Again, not a bad list.

One wonders what happened to Chris Shays, though. From 1992 - 2000, he got an A and a Taxpayer Friend Award every year but '93 (when he got 76%). Since then, his grades have been B, B, C+, C, C-. Let's hope he jumps in the 'wayback' machine and revisits his old self from 1995, when he got a 90%.
