You'll Never Guess Who Wrote the Latest Controversial Earmark

Posted by Demian Brady - August 16, 2007

Rep. Don Young (R-AK) has been accused of altering legislation after it was passed by Congress but before it was sent to the President. The changes were made on a section for a $10 million grant for an interstate in Florida. Young's re-wording directed the money to a specific project to connect Coconut Road to that interstate. This project would reportedly be a boon for a real estate developer who, coincidentally I'm sure, held a $40,000 fundraiser for Young in Florida just before the earmark appeared.

In related news, Congressional historians say it is unprecedented that the entire Alaskan delegation is under an ethical cloud.
