What's in a Name?

Posted by Jeff Dircksen - October 28, 2005

Andy Roth at the Club for Growth reports on Members of Congress who feel compelled to name things after themselves. He also has a link to another incident that was brought to light by TownHall.com's national political writer.

Perhaps it's time to start thinking about requiring Members of Congress to pay for naming rights -- out of their own pockets -- if they want to have their names associated with buildings, bridges, and other assorted pork projects.

a simple solution to it all. Pass a law that prohibits the government from using tax dollars to pay for anything that does not benefit at least 80% (ie: the common good) of all Americans on a generally pro-rata basis.
