I just dug up an article detailing how the environmental group The Audubon Society allows drilling for natural gas and even some oil on its Paul J. Rainey Sanctuary in Louisiana. The fact that drilling can and is being safely done on environmentally-sensitive land should provide useful ammunition during what is going to undoubtedly be a difficult fight over drilling in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).
